Michele Vendruscolo is Professor of Biophysics and Director of the Centre for Misfolding Diseases at the Department of Chemistry of the University of Cambridge where he moved nearly 20 years ago. His work is aimed at establishing the fundamental principles of protein aggregation, and at exploiting these principles to develop methods for drug discovery in neurodegenerative diseases. He has published over 400 scientific papers and 11 patents and given over 400 invited lectures at international meetings. He is the founder, director and chief scientific officer of Wren Therapeutics, a drug discovery company that targets protein misfolding diseases.
